Captain Summary (08-09 season)

An interesting season in which the 2nds managed to dominate alot of games with out making the opposition pay.The season started extremely well going undefeated in the first 9 games which included only 2 draws against the then top two teams at home to Streetly a 3-3 draw after a hard fought game, acquired with a wonder goal from 2nd team player of the year Andrew Peatfield. The christmas break came at the wrong time however with losses to Evesham and Pershore although the team soon rallied and were keeping in contention with the leading teams, however losses to Streetly and an epic 2 hour long defeat to West Brom, I bet all the 2nds remember saw any hopes of promotion start to slip, however the team continued to play attractive free flowing hockey as they had all season and it is this ability and desire to play decent hockey that will stand them in good stead under the leadership of Martin Gardner next season, The future is looking exceedingly bright especially with the introduction of several youngsters.
