Captain Summary

Stafford HC 3rd team had a very mixed 2008 – 2009 season finishing in 7th position in West Midlands Division 2. The season started very positively maintaining a top three position for the majority of the first half with a return of 16 points. With injuries and players moving up to the seconds it became difficult to maintain a settled team and a return of 5 points from the second half saw us drift down the table.
The second half of the season was positive though, it gave opportunities for players to move up from the 4ths and the younger players to play regular 3rd team hockey. John Utterly made the most of his opportunity producing consistently excellent performances. Credit must go to Neil for accommodating late requests and always providing players.
The 2009 – 2010 season is looking positive for the 3rd team where a settled team is anticipated with the opportunity for some of the younger players to push for regular positions.
