Captain Summary
A much improved season in which the 4ths took points from nearly half of the games and competed well against the stronger teams in the league nevertheless resulted in a lower half finish but a few luckier results could easily have taken the team into the top five. Injuries played a significant part in results when the excellent midfield of Johnny Lewis; Matt Jones; Damon Morbey; Alun Johnson and James Wild which had done so well before Christmas was disrupted by the loss of Alun Johnson - player of the season to that point and Damon Morbey. However, numbers had been good all season as four of the big five disappeared the club had some great finds in Guy Malpass; Matt Pike and Luke Mitford all of whome were under twenty and each of whom should go on to become fine players. Results wise the highlights had to be taking 4 points out of 6 from Cannock and superb wins over Lichfield and Telford.
As a development team, the 4ths certainly did their job well with almost all of the players being introduced to the thirds, young players coming into the club and progressing up from the badgers team.
